Pionear Recruiting is searching for a qualified professional for one of our leading financial clients in Richmond VA.

This position will have a heavy focus on the compliance of operational risk programs across Finance organization, with opportunities to engage in other financial risk functions and initiatives in support of our business partners. Strong organization, communication, problem solving, strategic thinking, and influencing skills within and beyond the Finance division will contribute to the candidate’s success.

General Responsibilities:

Support the Finance organization’s adherence to internal policies and standards related to operational risk, e.g., issue and event management or third party oversight;

  • Identify opportunities and collaborate within and beyond the Finance Risk Management (FRM) team to evolve and mature our operational risk program governance;
  • Analyze data from disparate sources to detect opportunities for strengthening the operational risk environment, and to drive issue resolution and risk mitigation activities;
  • Provide training and support as the subject matter expert within areas assigned for the risk advisory team and business partners;
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the health of programs assigned, ensuring sufficient awareness and transparency to leadership;
  • Develop and maintain documentation to include procedures and presentation materials;
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of audit and regulatory exams as they pertain to responsible areas.

Job Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
    • At least 2 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry
    • At least 1year of Risk Management experience OR Auditing experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative field of study
    • At least 3 years of Risk Management Experience / Audit Experience
    • Experience working within an operational risk construct
    • Experience working effectively in a team environment, delivering accurate results, and adhering to tight deadlines
    • Strong communication skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Suite
