Accounting Manager

You’ll lead the team that develops and executes their processes in the areas of Payroll, Accounts Payable, Inventory and Treasury Management—one that’s highly talented and collaborative. You’ll direct all activities related to monthly, quarterly and year-end closing and audit. And our client will rely on your expertise to analyze financial data, and make recommendations that impact the entire organization. You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Maintaining complete and accurate financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ensuring transparency of business results 
  • Directing activities related to monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings including the year-end audit, as well as preparing, reviewing and submitting financial statements 
  • Ensuring department-level management is equipped with monthly cost center reporting 
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure 
  • Assessing and proposing system enhancements and drives process improvement 
  • Maintaining fresh perspective on functional area processes and procedures, with a controls mind-set, to ensure department operations are efficient and effective 
  • Compares performance with operating plans and standards. Includes formulation of accounting policies, the coordination of systems and procedures, and the preparation of operating data and special reports as required 
  • Creating a cohesive, best-in-class team and defining clear paths to promote your team’s development and growth

Job Requirements

The professional we seek has:

  • 5-7 years general accounting, payroll and inventory experience at the managerial level 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability and desire to build relationships, solve problems, and productively impact tactical accounting initiatives 
  • Strong functional/technical accounting skills 
  • The ability to face problems head-on, make difficult decisions and take responsibility for them; work collaboratively and independently 
  • Energetic, flexible, results-oriented, and proactive 
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
