Job Summary 

Our client, the world’s leading contract food service company, has a Great Opportunity for career development and growth here at its headquarters in Charlotte, NC as a Financial Analyst within our Audit Services Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the coordination of audit activities for the IFRS audit between external auditors and Compass associates
  • Interact with external auditors to resolve audit questions and issues that arise
  • Perform monthly sales commission reviews and work with the relevant sales team to ensure accurate and on-time payments.
  • Compile Multi Employer Pension Plan reporting schedules and perform trend analysis to aid management decisions.
  • Assist with the annual audit process for the Benefit Plans, including preparation of stand-alone financial statements, under the Sr. Financial Analyst’s supervision
  • Prepare, gather and analyze external and internal audit supporting documents
  • Improve current project processes to increase the accuracy, efficiency or effectiveness of daily activities and to ensure they achieve project objectives. 
  • Continuously interact and develop strong relationships with external auditors as well as internal Compass associates to promote open and timely communication.
  • Support other activities completed by the Audit Services team, including audit closing presentations, management reports, etc.
  • Assist Technical Accounting Consulting with the implementation of new accounting standards (e.g. IFRS 15 and IFRS 16) and acquisition accounting
  • Perform special projects as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or in pursuance of the CPA license
  • 2+ years of accounting, audit and reporting experience
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Strong organization skills
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills, with strong risk awareness and thorough understanding of processes and controls.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with Sr. Analysts / managers across multiple functions
  • Ability to work independently and possess strong problem solving skills
  • 1+ years Public Accounting audit experience preferred
  • Big Four CPA firm experience a plus
  • International clients experience a plus
  • SAP & Essbase experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel and Access
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP 
  • Effective team player
