Lead Auditor

Job Description: 

The Lead Auditor will oversee the work performed by third parties, including the preliminary review of work papers. Performs testing of key controls over financial reporting and operational audits and makes recommendations to improve policies and procedures accordingly.

This team is very active and needs someone who can communicate well with all internal and external stakeholders. The role will have a direct supervisor but not be micromanaged.

  • Drives the Sarbanes Oxley process which includes planning, communicating and executing the plan over the fiscal year
  • Drives the coordination with external auditors to support their Sarbanes Oxley review.
  • Conduct internal control reviews on behalf of the company to identify financial risks, controls to mitigate the risks and assess each significant business process
  • Oversees and directs the work performed by third parties and internal audit staff and ensures compliance with all professional standards
  • Performs operational audits which will include determining the scope, developing the preliminary understandings, and developing the test plan based on the risk identified
  • Executes operational audits which include assessing the risks that the functional areas, distribution centers, and branches encounter while pursuing their objectives and determines the efficiency, efficacy, and compliance with the controls in place to mitigate those risks
  • Take ownership and independently manage the audit process (with minimal oversight)


Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required
  • Working knowledge of data analytics is preferred
  • Desire to grow and learn in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to effectively interface with management at all levels as well as contacts outside the organization
  • Experience in distribution or inventory management is preferred
  • Strong time and project management skills are required
  • 4-6 years of auditing or accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree and CPA, CIA, or MBA
  • Strong experience working cross-functionally with different stakeholders
